Working on lyrics

I have been working on the lyrics to this song over and over, while living in NYC for a few weeks. I'm starting to get happy with them and working on sort of dark spooky melody. It just snowed a few inches and as I walk down these city streets, I can no longer see the empire state building over my left shoulder. It's pretty cool with all of this haze because it looks like f**king Gotham City. I've been trying to go to a dark place in order to scrape these lyrics out of my mind. With all this darkness, I normally always find the light. I haven't found it yet. And still I keep searching. xxx-JT

The Big Apple

While being in the big apple, my little musical helpers came to lay down some piano. If you look close you can see Niki(FM) and our daughter Avery. It's an amazing feeling to look at such a little person and see yourself in there. Every time I play something cool on guitar, little Avery starts dancing in circles so I thought it was necessary to bring her to NYC for the first time while writing. Her favorite word is apple and she loves to slam on the piano. I would prefer her to be the next Stevie Nicks, but you never know. Luckily she's too young for Hannah. It's way different playing rock and roll with a kid but life changes. - JT
