Back to the NYC
We're in NYC again and having an awesome time...
YUM...frozen yogurt! So anyways, I grew up in NJ and used to go into the city periodically for hardcore shows at CBGBs so I love it. I might live in Ohio now, but I'm an East Coaster through and through. Oh yeah, CBGBs is now a fucking fashion boutique...but that's old news I suppose, but when you finally see it in person it hits you harder than reading it online.
So back on track...we spent hours in the studio today doing some pre-pre-production on these songs. They're sounding amazing. Way darker and bigger than anything we've done. Everything for this album fits together and has meaning. Fragile Future was good in that regard as well (and we love it the most out of the albums we've released in the past), but we were rushed and limited in ways I can't get into, so perhaps that album didn't turn out the way it was intended. Come to think of it, none of our albums turned out the way we truly wanted them to. I suppose my (belated) new years resolution is to make the album of our career and not release it until we're 100% happy with it for once. I'm really confident in the songs, but there are so many intangibles that always seem to get in the way. My hope is that doesn't happen this time around.
