Music From Your Childhood

Hey guys,

Micah, Eron and I are sitting in a room with a keyboard in NYC right now. Working on new songs, and trying to come up with some extra stuff for these songs if needed. Since we've been up here, I have kinda rekindled my love with some music from my child/teen years. This includes some early 90's rap, and my still undying love of 90's alternative rock. I have been rockin' some Geto Boys, Scarface, Mobb Deep, Gang Starr, etc. and it is awesome. I think that you guys should revisit something that you loved as a kid or teenager and I will guarantee it will put a smile on your face whether you remember it all or not. Post what you pulled out of the vault on the comment board, and maybe you'll find a new friend with an equally embarrassing love of C&C music factory.

-Matt

Well, I found my love for music when I was 12, and that included MCR, Blink182 and Green Day. Now, MCR is still one of my favorites, the others.. not so much. Oh man, I also loved me some oldies- "Rockin' Robin", "Monster Mash" "Purple People Eater"!!

In biology tomorrow we're planting some plants in Styrofoam cups like we used to do in grade two.

Yay for childhood!

Until about (ohmygod) 6 years ago (it doesn't feel that long!) I had horrible, or no love of music (Insert NSYNC here.)

Sadly, listening to NSYNC still makes me smile. and my friends and I will play it on the internet jukebox while bowling and try to imitate their dance moves =D

My dad dragged me to a Three Days Grace concert about 6 years ago, and it changed my life forever.

I love remembering the older days =D

My first concert was Hanson, no lie. And I still think they're pretty good.

Hey..<3 Matt you are soo right! A lot of the music I treasure came out in the nineties.. I love early 90's RnB, from artists like, En Vogue, Shanice, Jodeci, Brian McKnight, Sade, Brandy and etc. C&C music factory gets me dancing still to this day lol.. Do you remember skip-it's? That crazy toy you put on one leg and jump over it with the other?.. I used to love jumping double dutch, block parties, hoola hoops haha, good memories. Thanks for taking me down the lane with you Matt :-) I love versatility, keep up all the hard work.. Claudia..<3

yep im pretty much a kid still too (15) but i remember loving songs like hey ya by outkast and then i heard linkin park, which got me first into rock, then green day which i used to love. and now i don't really like either of them much. but i still like hawthorne heights and it's awesome how they still connect with fans even though they're really famous and all, and how they're not letting the fame get to their head like some other bands. but yeah u guys rock! thanks for being awesome

well ive been playin guitar for almost 9 years now, and when i started the first song i learned was livin lovin maid by the somewhat unknown nowadays, LED ZEPPELIN.
so i started out with them, some queen, TONS of gn'r, jimi hendrix, and clapton, and i remember the first time i heard the silence in black and white i was thinkin "this shit sucks" haha and on the back side of the dvd for silverstien it said "silverstien is a band you can believe in" i was like "what as opposed to a band that is nonexistant that you CANT believe in?"
but now i listen to more current shit, although like eron said theres a huge lack of bands that will STAY meaningful and all.
ps. i DO love you guys now! haha

Matt,
Funny you'd talk about old music. I'm in the process of making a youtube playlist about the songs of my life. I'm almost 50!! I'm putting ANYTHING i can remember from when i was a little girl right up til now which will include ALL of HH music. I'm nowhere near finished (im dead center of the 70's right now and that'll take a while, ha ha). It's easy to remember my channel....hhfan5 !!!!
I've been to 2 of your shows and thank you for keeping on. Love to all and Casey's Ashley and family
Good luck with your music diary.
